The school supply aisle in Target is my happy place, y’all! All of the supplies are organized so perfectly; the bright colors, the promise of the approaching school year, the variety of pens and scissors and binders, oh my! It’s my favorite. There was never any question of what I would be when I grew up. From a very early age, I would tell anyone who would listen that I was going to be a teacher - and I completely love my job! I have three very special teachers that have influenced my life: my mother, my fourth grade Language Arts teacher, and my TAG (Talented and Gifted program) teacher. Each of these women brought creativity, fun, and laughter into their classrooms and fostered a love of learning in their students - something I strive to do everyday. I grew up in Burleson, graduating from BHS in 1999. Afterwards, I went to the University of North Texas and graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Education. I taught kindergarten and first grade in Burleson and Everman ISD before deciding to spend time at home with my two young children. When I came back to teaching, I made only one stop - Holy Cross. It quickly became home, and I cannot imagine teaching anywhere else. My favorite subjects are math and science, and I enjoy finding new and creative ways to engage my students. When I am not at school, I love spending my days with my husband and our two children. Reading, camping, puzzles, and cross stitch are some of my favorite ways to unwind.
