To prepare our children to become Christian thinkers and leaders in their generation, Holy Cross is committed to providing our students a comprehensive, excellent, distinctively Christian education of uncompromising quality. We strive daily to create a stimulating and nurturing environment for our students. We believe that a Holy Cross education will develop our students' minds, nurture their souls, and shape their characters now, and as they mature into young adults.
Helping our students develop wisdom is central to our mission. Simply put, this means that our teachers strive to help our students connect their Christian faith with their learning enabling them to understand their circumstances and their world from God's perspective. We desire to help our students understand, analyze, and interpret every subject from a biblical perspective. Romans 12:1-2 states: "Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will" (NIV). With that biblical charge in mind, we teach every subject from a Christian perspective helping the students understand God's sovereign presence in the world from the beginning of time. In the process, we pray each student discovers his or her unique created purpose in their generation.
We also believe that a great education nurtures the character of the student as well as his intellect. Raising children in today's culture is challenging. Our students are exposed daily, via the media and the internet, to a wide range of negative influences rampant with sensuality, immodesty, crudeness in speech and conduct, and self-centeredness. To counter these influences, we are committed at Holy Cross to creating a different environment. Our staff works with our students daily to help them develop godly character, discerning minds, and sensitive hearts. Therefore, it is priority that every member of the school community - faculty, students, and parents - strive to model Christian character and Christian scholarship. Our end goal is to assist all of our students mature into young men and young women with deep faith, sharp minds, and compassionate hearts, and who are equipped to become leaders in a culture that hungers for a fresh and relevant Christian perspective.
