Middle School Electives

Holy Cross Middle School Home Education program begins in the Fall with a textile unit which includes basic sewing skills & laundry care.  We move on to Kitchen & Food Safety finishing out the semester with gaining knowledge in weights and measures, learn the uses of different kitchen tools & how to improve recipes using our senses,

In the Spring, students learn basic home budgeting and adulting skills, explore food design, organize a meal and write a menu & prepare and serve a meal ordered by a family.

Students will learn a number of everyday applications that can be used after they have gone through high school and college; such as, reading tape measures, problem solving, welding, and woodworking.  Students will learn to think critically and be able to apply their knowledge to everyday situations.
