Cheryl Martin, M.L.I.S.

Librarian, Computer & Technology

I assumed the positions of librarian and technology teacher at Holy Cross in August 2013. Prior to that time, I spent 25 years in Mansfield ISD and Fort Worth ISD: teaching 2nd grade, 6th grade math, and as an elementary school librarian. I earned degrees in Elementary Education (B.A., Dallas Baptist University, May 1988) and Library/Information Sciences (MS, University of North Texas, December 2004). I am also a Level 1 and 2 Google Certified Educator. I married my husband one week after graduating from Dallas Baptist University in 1988 and we have two daughters who bring a great deal of laughter and love into our lives. We also have a talkative cat who entertains our family daily with her antics. My favorite part of being a librarian is helping students find that book or author that sparks in them a love for reading. As a lover of technology myself, I also find great satisfaction in helping students find new technical skills to add to their toolbox. Having the opportunity through the combination of these two positions to teach students how to learn for themselves through both print and digital mediums gives me great joy.-
