Brenda Longley, M.Div.

Second Grade Teacher

I am so excited to be a part of the Holy Cross family. I am grateful that God has guided me to be a part of this community. I grew up in a military family, living in Colorado, Japan, Texas, and Indiana. When I was a fourth grader, I felt called to serve God. After finishing a degree in International Ministries from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, I felt led to attend Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth. I met my husband at Southwestern. I am blessed to be married to a man who loves God. I have served as part of Alsbury Baptist Church over twenty years. During my time at Alsbury,  I have taught children alongside my husband, in addition to teaching teen girls and women. My husband and I have 2 children, a son and a daughter. Our son is a college student who loves playing saxophone in various bands. We adopted our daughter in China. She lives with autism and loves music (except when her brother is practicing his sax at home).

God has led me throughout my teaching career. I started my educational journey as a PreK teacher. I served as a paraprofessional in Crowley and Burleson ISDs. After earning my teaching certificate, I was led to teach 3rd grade at Nazarene Christian Academy and then Special Education for Burleson ISD.

Over the years, I have interacted with lots of families from Holy Cross. I have been impressed with the way HCCA unites God’s Word with the education process. I am thrilled that God has led me to the Holy Cross family and look forward to helping the kids in my care grow in their understanding of God and his incredible creation.
