Intermediate School Math Teacher

Holy Cross has been home to me since 2014. It has a place in my heart that can’t be replaced or explained. My son has been attending school here since he was in Pre-K3 and is going into 4th grade. My daughter has been attending HCCA since Pre-K3 as well, and will be entering kindergarten this year! Because of the impact HCCA made in my son’s life, I knew I wanted to be a part of it with him and my daughter. When my son started 1st grade, I applied to teach at HCCA and have been here since. I am so blessed to be a part of this amazing school. In the nine years prior to coming to HCCA, I taught at Henderson Junior High in Stephenville (2 years), Burleson High School (7 years), and Tarrant County College (part time since 2015). At HJH, I taught seventh and eighth grade math for a year and a half. At BHS, I taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and ASL, and I have been an adjunct professor at TCC Trinity River, teaching Developmental Math and Intermediate Algebra. I graduated with my Bachelor Degree in 4-8 math education from Tarleton State University the same day I married my husband. I graduated with my Master’s of Education in Educational Administration from Tarleton State University in August of 2014. Education has been a passion of mine since I was a young girl. I use to play school all the time! One of my favorite things about teaching is seeing a student’s hard work and perseverance pay off. I knew God had placed teaching on my heart from a young age. I have been blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful educators throughout my life, including my dad who probably had the biggest impact on my career choice. Math became a passion of mine in high school. When I was in school, math was not something that came easily to me, but I loved it, and I had a teacher who made us want to learn and work hard. Since math did not come naturally to me, I also want to instill a desire and passion for math in my students, like my teachers did for me.-
