Kristi Alewine, M.Ed.

Third Grade Teacher

The Alewine family is so excited to be a part of Holy Cross Christian Academy family! My husband and I were looking to move our 6th and 3rd grader to Christian education. I had attended a Christian high school and knew the impact it had on me spiritually and academically. We wanted the same thing for our children. After going on the campus tour, I started to realize how I also wanted to be a part of what Holy Cross was doing. Not long after we registered our children, I was filling out an application to have the opportunity to teach at HCCA. I have spent the past 20 years involved in education as a student, teacher, and parent. My educational journey started with a Bachelor’s Degree from Cal Baptist University in 2003. After graduating I returned to my small hometown and started teaching 6th grade in rural, central California . After several years teaching, I decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Baylor University, which meant I jumped back into being a student full time. A perk of moving to a new state was that I met my husband, Lukas. We ended up returning to California after I finished graduate school in 2009 and I taught 4th grade until we welcomed our first child, Landree in 2011. I was fortunate to stay home as we grew our family and added another child, Easton. I missed teaching and would substitute periodically at my children’s school. Three years ago my husband and I decided to move our family back to his hometown of Burleson. Just as we were getting settled into Burleson and COVID had hit, my children’s school reached out to see if I would be interested in returning to the classroom. I spent the last two years teaching my favorite age group of students, third and fourth grade! I look forward to being a part of HCCA and helping instill a love of learning for all our students.-
